It's time to invest in yourself and get the support you need

I believe that each of us is a unique individual; as human beings we want our lives to have a sense of fulfilment and purpose and we need to be at ease with who we are. At our core we strive to be happy, to have love in our lives, and to feel safe. We all deserve to know and love ourselves as the wonderful, simple and complex persons that we are.

More about me, my qualifications and experience: I have been a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BCAP) since 2004.

My counselling journey started as a client in 1997: with time, work and the support of my counsellor, a whole new world began to open up to me. I began to understand that I had choices.

This initial counselling had such a profound and beneficial effect on me and my life that I decided that it would be an honour to be the one to help others transverse their own challenges.

I began my counselling training in 2000 along with volunteer placements, and in 2003 I began my BACP Accredited qualification in Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counselling. In 2004 I gained a certificate in short term, solution focused work and began working one to one with clients. I finished my training and qualified as a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor in 2005.

In 2005 to 2007 I trained as a couple’s counsellor (Beyond the Individual training). From this I was able to add such richness to my work, using the knowledge that I gained during this fantastic training: after all, none of us ever really live in isolation, we all live in relationship be it with ourselves or others.

When working with couples, it is the relationship, the unique energy and dynamic created between people that is my client, rather than the individuals themselves.

I have also studied and completed many other trainings and workshops including a certificate in Trauma Work; Embodied Approaches to Trauma; Working Creatively; Resilience; Time Limited; CBT; DBT alongside many other continued professional development trainings, my training continues!

What is an integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor?

'Integrative' means that I have studied several different counselling theories/ways of working, so am able to adapt and integrate these theories to best suit the needs of my client. Therefore, I am able to work with you in a way that most supports and benefits you, and your journey: my work with each client is bespoke.
